Students in CMS recently brought the Commonwealth's heritage to life, merging creativity with their social studies classes to compete in the statewide VA250 Sticker Design Competition. Art and history teachers collaborated at all grade levels to guide students through the project, challenging them to design an original sticker reflecting Virginia's Revolutionary history, landmarks, and symbols in celebration of the 250th anniversary of American independence.
After a highly competitive school-wide vote, Allison was officially named our school-level winner for her incredible artwork.
The excitement doesn't stop there. We are incredibly proud to announce that Emma was selected as a state-level winner in the competition. As a statewide winner, Emma's winning artwork may be produced as an official Virginia 250 sticker and may be featured on merchandise and promotional materials across the state. She will also receive a prize package of official VA250 gear to celebrate her achievement.
Congratulations to Allison, Emma, and all the students and teachers who collaborated to make this hands-on history project a massive success!
